Over the past few years, loyalty to a particular cruise line has stayed fairly consistent. However, with recent price wars, economics has played a big part in a cruiser’s final decision.

Obviously, Royal Caribbean listened and now has added some enhancements to its frequent sailing program: Crown and Anchor Society. The new perks were unveiled yesterday.

Now, you can book onboard a Royal Caribbean ship, and receive an onboard credit up to $200 for a future sailing, just for making the reservation. Plus, any Crown and Anchor Society savings certificates you have can be applied as onboard credits for future sailings, and they can be used for a balcony and suite discount (the latter applicable for Platinum, Diamond or Diamond Plus members).

Staff members are being added to provide more attention to C & A members — seems to me that should have been a given — along with exclusive member specials and enhanced benefits in a revised Ultimate Value Book.

What’s more, Royal Caribbean says in its press release “there is more to come.”

That’s about it. So you Crown and Anchor members, what do you think? Are these the enhancements you’ve been looking for — is it a step up?

Let me know what you think.
